King George V Playing Field

A Field in Trust and registered Charity at the heart of the Caister-On-Sea Community.

Located at the end of Allendale Road and previously owned by the Parish Council, Caister Playing Field was gifted to it’s Management Committee in 1973.

The Playing Field Management Committee is made up of volunteers from the user groups of the field and local residents.

As well as housing the Parish Council’s play equipment, other facilities on site include Caister Community Cinema, outdoor hard court (football, basketball and netball courts), 2 full size football pitches, youth football pitches, outdoor bowling green, indoor short mat bowls and cricket pitch.

The field is home to Caister Football Club, Caister Cricket Club, Caister Bowls Club, Caister Walking Football Group and Caister Netball Group as well as hosting a variety of other sporting events.

The local Scouting groups meet in the Scout Hut weekly, a variety of groups meet in the Community Spoon and the Rabbit Hutch Coffee Shop. Full details of these groups can be found on the Caister Community Spoon and Caister Playing Field Facebook pages.

In 2021, The Rabbit Hutch Coffee Shop was opened as part of the leisure facilities based at the field which is now a real community hub. Run purely by volunteers, all profits generated from the coffee shop are reinvested to the Playing Field and it’s facilities.

Following fundraising efforts from the 2024 Village Festival, Caister Playing Field is now home to Caister’s very first Community Sensory Garden which is set to open in Summer 2026.
