An update from East Norfolk Medical Practice
We wanted to ensure that you as a Parish council were kept informed of the situation at our Caister site on West Road. Of course you will be aware that the site is currently closed.
The message that we have put out on our facebook page is:
‘Caister Health Centre will be closed for the rest of this week. We apologise for any disruption this causes. Patients with appointments this week will be able to go ahead with those at Newtown Surgery and we hope to reopen next week.
We have had concerns about air quality on the premises and have therefore taken precautionary steps to ensure the safety of our patients and staff whilst we investigate further.
If you have any concerns about prescriptions, samples or any other related matter, please contact us on 01493 745050. Once again, we apologise for any inconvenience caused.’
The concerns about air quality and decision to evacuate and close (our part) of the building are ours and not the emergency services, who could find no cause for concern. We are conducting further testing – and will keep you updated.
The dentists and pharmacy are separate tenants of the building and make their own decisions for their operations, so we are unable to of course comment for them.
