Parking Boost for Beach Road Car Park
Caister Parish Council works with the Borough to introduce reduced hourly fees and a one hour free parking trial!
Published: 2 May 2026
Following various meetings over the past 12 months, Caister Parish Council have managed to successfully negotiate significant changes to parking arrangements at Caister’s Beach Road Car Park.
The Parish Council have vocalised their concerns over both the cost and condition of Beach Road Car Park for several years, with little progress other than some temporary (and inadequate) pot hole filling work.
Following meetings spanning across 2025 and 2026, the hourly rates for parking have been significantly reduced. Parking in this location will now cost £1.50 for one hour, £2.00 for up to 4 hours and £3.00 for over 4 hours with residents passes also now free of charge. This is between 1st April 2026-31 October 2026. In 2025, the cost to park was a flat rate of £1.50 per hour. and residents passes were £25.20 per quarter.
With effect from 29 April 2026, another success was implemented in the form of a 1 hour free parking trial – perfect for local visitors. The Parish will fight for this to become a permanent option following the trial period.
We hope you will agree that these are extremely positive steps in the right direction benefiting both residents and visitors alike.
Still to come are plans to more permanently address the condition of the surface which in the interim will see pot holes filled.
